A CALL TO KINDNESS – LET US HELP LITTLE MATIAS

Dear Parishioners,

We are presented with an opportunity to open our hearts and help a very special boy – Matias Blažević, a five-year-old from Završje near Nova Gradiška, born on September 26, 2020. Matias has been diagnosed with severe developmental disorders, including pervasive developmental disorder, speech and feeding difficulties, and a severe form of autism.

His progress depends on intensive rehabilitation, which includes sensory integration, neurofeedback, reflex integration therapy, speech therapy, and other treatments available only in Zagreb. Unfortunately, the costs of rehabilitation, accommodation, and transportation must be covered by his parents, as they are not reimbursed by the Croatian Health Insurance Fund. The father, as the sole breadwinner, has already taken out a loan to cover part of the expenses.

In collaboration with the Croatian association SPIK ("Under One Roof"), which supports children with severe diagnoses not covered by the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO), we are launching a parish fundraising campaign to help Matias.
