Our beloved wife, mother, baba, aunt, and friend, Marica “Mary” Vukovic passed away with her family by her side, on November 11, 2025, at the age of 73.
Marica will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Nikola; children, Kathy (Perry), and Ante (Zvjezdana); grandchildren, Dominic, Marko (Meghan), and Petra; as well as numerous relatives and friends in Canada, Croatia, and around the world.
Marica was predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Kata Vukovic; and in-laws, Ante and Bare Vukovic.
Marica was born on January 1, 1952, in Krizpolje, Hrvatska, and got married to the love of her life in France in 1968. Marica and Nikola came to Canada in 1968, started a family in 1971, and she worked until 2012. Marica was an active member of the Croatian community in Edmonton, and cherished being surrounded by her grandchildren, family, and friends.
A Prayer Service will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9830 148 Street NW, Edmonton, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
Memorial Donations may be made to Roozen Family Hospice Centre, 9808 148 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5N 3E8.
The family wishes to send a special Thank you to all of the staff at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre for their care and compassion towards our wife, mother, and Baba.
