All Souls' Day is a memorial day, when we remember our dearest deceased. When we pray for our dead, we also remember our own mortality, and we pray for the souls of our dead.
In the liturgical calendar, All Souls' Day belongs to Memorial Day. According to the liturgy, we divide mass celebrations into Svagdan, Memorial, Holidays and Feast Days.
In our parish, we will celebrate Memorial Day for our deceased on November 1st on Friday, instead of Saturday, for the traditional celebration of the 'Croatian evening'. We will celebrate the feast of All Saints, as before, on the first Sunday after All Saints, November 3.
The Prayer of Absolution at the Holy Cross Cemetery will be the same on Sunday, November 3, at 1 p.m.
In a joint prayer, we will include all our deceased, who are buried not only in the Holy Cross cemetery, but all over the world.
Give them Eternal Peace, Lord!
And the Eternal light shone on them.
Rest in the Peace of God. Amen.
